Currying Favor

by on Mar.30, 2009, under Main Stuff

The quest for curry mix is over. I settled on “medium-hot” because, quite frankly, if it’s all I can get, then I’d better learn to like it. Hopefully by loading it up with enough potatoes I’ll offset some of the worst of the heat and it’ll be edible. If not, well, next time I’ll just have to add a couple packets of sugar into it.

Tomorrow’s the day of reckoning; I got in too late today to make it. If I survive (and I am totally not being overmelodramatic about this) I’ll post with the results.

    Don’t put sugar in curry.

If it’s that spicy, you’ll want water to offset it anyway, rather than just another substance. Also sugar is a bad idea in a curry.

    Right, no sugar. Duly noted.

Sour cream can help, depending on the type of curry you’re making. Otherwise lots of rice on the side and a glass of milk for after.
